Most fixes and improvements to WinPal roll out automatically and don't require installing anything new, but you'll only get them if you're already on the latest version of the app. Turning on auto-update means you never have to think about it.
For iOS (iPhone/iPad):
Open the Settings app on your device.
Tap App Store.
Under Automatic Downloads, toggle on App Updates.
For Android:
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your profile icon in the top right, then tap Settings.
Tap Network preferences, then Auto-update apps.
Choose Over any network or Over Wi-Fi only.
For most fixes and updates, you don't need to install a new version. As long as you're already on the latest version of the app, force quitting it twice is enough to pick up the change.
iOS:
Force quit the app (swipe it away from the app switcher).
Reopen the app.
Wait a couple of seconds, the app checks for updates on launch.
Force quit again.
Reopen, the update should now be loaded.
Android:
Open the app.
Force close it.
Open it again, the update applies.
